Interview with Author Andrea Twumasi
Our featured author today is Andrea Twumasi from Belgium. She is a new upcoming author and is amazingly inspirational. I asked Andrea a few questions as outlined below in regards to her writing career.
How long have you been an author?
I would say six months since I started working on this book six months ago.
What is your inspiration behind writing?
My inspiration was first given by God. He used many people to keep me inspired. A few of them are Tony Gaskins, Rebecca Lynn Pope, William Djamen and Luvvie Ajayi. As a black woman, it was very essential for me to be able to look up to black authors. Just seeing someone that looks like me writing their own book, gave me the courage to write my own story.
How does a day look like in your life?
A day in my life is pretty simple. I wake up and give thanks to God, then get ready to start my day. I journal, read my Bible, work on my skills and watch sermons. I’m usually working on my manuscript from 3pm until 8pm. After that, I just clean up, scroll on social media, pray and then get ready to go to bed.
Discuss your literary works and the genres of your specification.
My genre is non-fiction narrative. I’m basically just telling my own story. ‘Ma Plus Belle Erreur’ means my most beautiful mistake in English. My book is a testimony of God’s grace. I wrote it to prevent people from making the same mistakes that I’ve made. The mistake that I made was a beautiful one because I’ve gained more than I lost from it. I would say that my story is like the one of Joseph in the Bible in the sense that, what people used for bad, God has used it for good.
